Hot new mods

It's been a while, so here's a little update for you Oblivion mod freaks ..
One of the coolest mods seen in a long time, almost a total conversion for Oblivion I would call it (since most other TC's never actually got finished and released !! Morrowind was more fortunate in that matter...)
Druid aka Path of the Druid mod for Oblivion ... the name says it all in this case. A mod that will allow you to play a Druid ! Read the mod of the day article on my favorite site :

Then another cool one, Fransesco's optional items and creatures mod. This adds a lot of cool stuff to vanilla Oblivion. Download and install this one without even thinking about it .. it integrates seamlessly into Oblivion anyway !

Oblivion mods revived !

The entire has site been rebuilt after they had lost all the data, but it's all back online.
The Oblibion mod download database is slowly being filled again, and I noticed the admin is playing around with a new forum as well. Some of the old 'mod of the day' articles are back, and I also saw some new modder interviews !

let's hope this great site for the modding community stays alive this time !! It will take some time for all the mods to be uploaded again to the server, but knowing the admins they will have the best elderscrolls oblivion mods site back to be the very best.

bad news

The Oblivion Mods site is no more ... it's a very sad story which I will explain briefly here.

The site was hosted in sweden with friends of mine, and the server got hacked after I neglected to update the Joomla CMS installation. Then the server was taken down and I lost everything. I have some very old backups, but even if i restore those all I have is a vulnerable site that will be hacked soon again. Updating from such an old version to a newer one is a pain in the ass as well. I think I will have to setup a local server and restore everything on there, and then build a new site. That's going to be a ton of work I can tell you.

hundreds of downloads with nice desriptions and screenshots .. modder interviews ... other unique stuff .. hundreds of forum posts ... all gone ...

I'll let you guys know when I've got something back up there. Stay tuned for updates.

Oblivion still going strong

Well it's been a long time since I posted anything here but quite a lot has happened and is still happening in Cyrodill ... A few official expansion packs have been released and a lot of people have jumped back into the game. I myself have aquired an Xbox 360 since then (bday present from my wife!!) and the game for it as well (gift from a friend .. lucky me !!). So I have aquired the expansions through the xbox live marketplace, using the microsoft live points system. Very convenient way of playing I must say, the Xbox 360. The loading times are a bit higher then on an averga PC these days but on the other hand you get to lay back in your chair with your wireless controllers. So the mod community is also still going strong, and www.elderscrolls-oblivion.com is still the nr 1 site to go for all you mods (also to contribute new ones). So let me all know if you are playing Oblivion again and which addons you're playing.

Oblivion is .old

Well .. the Oblivion storm is a little bit past now. Even though I have been given an Xbox 360 by my wife for my birthday, and a good friend of mine was kind enough to give me Oblivion for it, I still have to admit that Oblivion has more of less disappeared from my life ...
As for the mods site, I havn't had time to keep the mods site up to date as much as I wanted, but now the visitors have seriously dropped, so I'm actually looking at the next upcoming RPG's. This blog will probably no longer be updated very much, my RPG mods blogging will continue on http://rpgmods.blogspot.com !!

Expect the next major update here as soon as some serious full conversion mods are finished for Oblivion...

Beyond Oblivion

Ran into a site through a search for Oblivion cheats, called 'Beyond Oblivion'.
While it's hosted on Blogger, just like this site, don't be mistaken about the quality of the site. This is not just your average blog ..


Not only does it have a nice basic list of cheats and tweaks for Oblivion, it also has screenshots and other sections to make it into a real complete site. THe owner of the site is very active and post some news / blogs some related information at least every few days ... check out his site at this address :

Oblivion modder interviews

On The Oblivion Mods site there have been some new modder interviews posted, the one that I personally found the most interresting was Dejunai, the creator of the Harvest mod. It actually tells you some things about the development of the mod, who he worked with and what kind of response he got from the community. This truly shows how great the Oblivion community is at the moment.
The mod itself was also chosen as mod of the day, which you can read about here :

There will also be a picture gallery posted today, to show all the different flowers, herbs, plants and mushrooms that are affected by this mod, and how it looks once you have harvested them.
